APIAVote and APALA Invite AAPI Community Members
to January 13 Caucus Training in Preparation for Historic Caucus

LAS VEGAS—In preparation for the Nevada caucuses on January 19, APIAVote encourages Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community members to attend the caucus training led by the Nevada Chapter of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance.

A once emerging AAPI community in Nevada is now a key electorate in Nevada. AAPIs are the fastest growing population in Clark County, Nevada. Asian Americans comprise 8% of the county’s population, while Pacific Islanders are now 1% of the county’s population. As seen in unpredictable races such as Iowa and New Hampshire, AAPI voter could significantly influence the caucus outcome.

WHAT:    APALA Nevada Caucus Training

WHY:    To inform and prepare members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities to participate in the Nevada Caucus on January 19th—the day Nevadans vote for their presidential preference.

According to APALA, there are about 130,000 Asian Americans and 17,000 Pacific Islanders in Clark County. AAPI’s preside in Spring Valley, Paradise, Sunrise Manor, Summerlin, Southwest Nevada, Las Vegas, Henderson, and Winchester.
